By using Cybersafe NZ, your school agrees to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us before subscribing.
1. About Cybersafe NZ
Cybersafe NZ is a browser-based school cybersafety programme operated by Purelayer Ltd, a New Zealand registered company. The programme provides interactive cybersafety modules for Year 0–8 students, a Teacher Dashboard, and supporting resources.
2. Licence & Pricing
A school licence grants one school unlimited access to all Cybersafe NZ modules, the Teacher Dashboard, and all supporting materials for 12 months from the date of purchase.
A 3-day free trial is available. No payment is required during the trial period. At the end of the trial, access will cease unless a licence is purchased.
Licences are per school, not per classroom or teacher. You may not share your access code with other schools.
3. Payment
Payment is due at the time of purchase. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and are exclusive of GST unless otherwise stated. A GST invoice will be provided upon payment.
Schools requiring purchase orders or invoice-based payment should contact us at lee@cybersafenz.co.nz prior to subscribing.
4. Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with Cybersafe NZ within the first 14 days of your paid licence, contact us for a full refund. No refunds are available after 14 days from the licence start date.
Refund requests should be sent to lee@cybersafenz.co.nz with your school name and invoice number.
5. Acceptable Use
By using Cybersafe NZ, your school agrees to:
- Use the programme only for its intended educational purpose
- Ensure appropriate teacher supervision when students use the programme
- Keep your school access code confidential and not share it with other schools
- Not attempt to copy, reproduce, or redistribute programme content without permission
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the programme
6. Intellectual Property
All content within Cybersafe NZ — including quiz questions, scenarios, feedback text, design, and code — is the intellectual property of Purelayer Ltd and is protected under New Zealand copyright law.
Schools are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the programme for educational purposes during their licence period. This does not grant any right to copy or reproduce content outside the programme.
7. School Responsibilities
Schools are responsible for:
- Ensuring teacher supervision of students using the programme
- Obtaining any parental consents required under their own school policies
- Ensuring students enter only their first name (not full names) at login
- Keeping their access code secure
- Complying with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 in their use of student data
8. Availability & Support
We aim to keep Cybersafe NZ available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated where possible. We provide support via email and aim to respond within 2 business days.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Purelayer Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of Cybersafe NZ. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the current licence period.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Schools will be notified of material changes by email. Continued use of Cybersafe NZ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
